Vestige d\u2019une \u00e9poque industrielle, il continue \u00e0 servir sa fonction d\u2019origine et est la propri\u00e9t\u00e9 de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 immobili\u00e8re priv\u00e9e Rester Management.<\/p>\n<p>Depuis 2022, l\u2019entrep\u00f4t est au centre d\u2019une proposition de r\u00e9am\u00e9nagement qui vise \u00e0 lui donner une seconde vie. Le plan consiste \u00e0 transformer le b\u00e2timent existant et \u00e0 y ajouter une nouvelle construction, pour cr\u00e9er un lieu \u00e0 usages multiples qui comprendrait des ateliers d\u2019artistes, des commerces, des restaurants et, plus controvers\u00e9, 120 chambres d\u2019h\u00f4tel et des bureaux. Beaucoup souhaiteraient l\u2019am\u00e9nagement de logements sociaux dans le b\u00e2timent. Un sondage men\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019hiver 2023 aupr\u00e8s de 10 500 personnes r\u00e9v\u00e8le que 82% sont pour la transformation, cependant 68% disent avoir des pr\u00e9occupations, notamment concernant l\u2019embourgeoisement du Plateau-Mont-Royal auquel ce projet pourrait contribuer.<\/p>\n<p>Pour mieux encadrer la proposition, une d\u00e9marche de consultation men\u00e9e par l\u2019Office de consultation publique de Montr\u00e9al (OCPM) a recueilli 331 contributions. Le rapport, publi\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019hiver 2026, indique un bon accueil, malgr\u00e9 certaines pr\u00e9occupations.
